To Kalon Vineyard Achieves Organic Certification

The renowned To Kalon Vineyard® has achieved organic certification through California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), the first organic certifying agency in the U.S. Owned by Constellation Brands and producing fruit for some of the world’s finest luxury wines, including Robert Mondavi Winery, Schrader Cellars, Double Diamond and To Kalon Vineyard Company, To Kalon Vineyard has been farmed organically for the past three years and meets rigorous standards around the use of renewable resources and conservation of soil and water. The 2023 harvest will be To Kalon’s first certified organic harvest.

This achievement accelerates Constellation’s deep commitment to its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy while improving the health and sustainability of the land for future generations. All of Constellation’s owned vineyards are sustainably farmed, with several also on the path towards organic certification. The company is also working to decrease dependence on non renewable energy sources, announcing last month a partnership with Monarch Tractor, the creator of the world’s first commercially available electric, driver-optional smart tractor, co-founded by Robert Mondavi’s grandson, Carlo Mondavi. Constellation accepted the digital keys to the first six tractors, which are already at work in To Kalon Vineyard, further enhancing the industry-leading innovation and sustainability of this world-class site.
